Want to be part of something great? We’re Godfrey’s Popcorn, a trio of lifelong friends with backgrounds in Film, Design and Food who’ve teamed up to breathe fresh life into popcorn as an elevated product. We want craft the culture that surrounds the world’s favourite nostalgic crispy snack.
Isn’t it just popcorn? Well, wasn’t it just coffee a couple of decades ago? We’ve seen the culture explode around the humble beverage and we aim to culture craft our own niche born from the world of cinema, refined and perfected and unleashed onto the world as a fresh take on Popcorn.
Godfrey’s is a new business opening our first popcorn shop January 2025 in Covent Garden London. We’re in good company, our first location is surrounded by world-famous theatres in one of London’s most sought-after shopping districts.
We are looking for bright, switched-on, friendly individuals who are keen to learn and good with people. You’re getting in at the ground floor, so naturally, there are opportunities to grow with the business and forge a career that has the potential to pop-off!
What the job entails:
You’ll be trained up to be a popcorn expert. Understanding what goes in to making the perfect popped corn. Firstly, we’ll train you up on service, how to interact and serve our customers. You’ll learn the point of sale system, opening procedures, closing procedures and general front of house etiquette.
Once you’ve got that mastered, we’ll lift the curtain on how it’s all done. (the popping that is!) We’ll train you up from your first popped batch, right to your first caramel cook. You’ll get upskilled on all of our bespoke popcorn machinery, and how to produce our famous flavours.
We aim to have a team who are Popcorn experts. We’ll make sure of that, if you’re ready to learn, you’ll be a Godfrey’s insider in no time!
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
A People Person:
You’re the first smile our customers see when they walk through the doors. Charm and wit are essential tools in making great first impressions that keep customers coming back for the world’s best popcorn coupled with outstanding service.
A Multitasker :
At Godfrey’s everything is scratch made in house. We need you to be able to help with production as well as service during busier times. Some would say, there are multiple tasks to see too.
A Keen Attention to Detail:
Our team has put endless effort into elevating the humble Popped Corn. We expect the same from our new team members. Each bag, packed and sealed with meticulous attention to detail. Each batch as perfect as the last. No compromises.
Able to Keep Up:
We anticipate queues during the festive seasons and weekends. In order to make our customer experience memorable, let’s work to get a bag of fresh popcorn into their hands in 7 mins or less.
Friendly and Engaging:
We’d like the interactions our customers have at our shop to be as good as our popcorn. Perhaps recommend a show? Show interest in their Lion King outfits? Warm, welcoming and friendly … without being too familiar.
A Foodie at Heart:
You’ve made it this far down the list, we’d assume you’re interested in food, new concepts, new food ideas and flavours. We’re always innovating at Godfrey’s, making sure we’re at the cutting edge of popcorn snack-ology.
Salary (FT): £26,592
Salary (PT - must be free Monday, Friday and weekends): £13.85p/h
Location: We are looking Fulltime and/or Part time members at our Covent Garden Location
